The marijuana industry is one of the fastest growing in America, and The View co-host Whoopi Goldberg has thrown her hat into the ring to claim her stake. It’s just been announced the Academy Award winner will lend her name, and financial support to a new medical marijuana company dedicated solely to women.
The company she co-founded, Whoopi & Maya, will only be available in California and offer four products: a balm, sipping chocolate, a tincture and a bath soak all infused with marijuana and aimed at helping women reduce the stress and pain of cramps. Pricing has not be made available.
“I want to go nice and slow with this. I don’t want this to be a joke to people. It’s not a joke to women, Goldberg told USA Today.
Goldberg said this company isn’t for the purpose of selling marijuana to anyone who solely wants to get high. The Hollywood veteran has said drinking tea with Mary Jane has helped to control her own cramps and pain and uses a “vape” pen infused with marijuana oils to help ease her glaucoma headaches.
“This is a nice quiet way that I can be part of this,” Goldberg said of the new company. “It had to help people if I were going to be involved.
Good looks, Whoopi.
