Despite Will Smith’s busy schedule, juggling movie roles in the upcoming blockbusters like Concussion, Suicide Squad, and hopefully Bad Boys III, the big-time actor seems to have enough time to squeeze in a music tour. The former Fresh Prince officially confirmed that he is planning a world tour with old friend, DJ Jazzy Jeff.
Only a couple of months ago, talks of Smith going on tour were only rumors, but after the “Parents Just Don’t Understand” artist made a comeback to the music scene when he featured on Bomba Estéreo’s single, “Fiesta,” fans started to think the whispers may become a reality. Smith told Ellen DeGeneres that it was, in fact, the case.
According to him, he is very excited to finally be going on tour. As a throwback picture flashed on the screen behind the two, it kind of triggered the question of why the two had waited until now to go on tour. Smith broke it down for Ellen, talking about their missed opportunities and conflicting circumstances.
“We never actually had a chance to go out and do a full tour,” he said. “So, we released our first record in 1986. Girls Ain’t Nothing But Trouble was our first record, but by 1990 I was already on The Fresh Prince. So, in that time, we just we were getting started and I never actually had a chance to go on tour, so I really want to get out there and do it for real,” he said.
