A docuseries about Wiz Khalifa’s rise to rap superstardom will be chronicled on a new Apple Music show.
Wiz Khalifa: Behind the Cam is five-episode long, and drops on the streaming platform next week (April 17). The service will make all five episodes available at one time. The title is a play on his government name, Cameron Thomaz.
In the trailer, which was posted to the Taylor Gang MC’s Instagram page on April 10, photos of Wiz in his formative years as a rapper are shown. A voiceover of him says “I can’t be 21 again, like, I gotta make 31 look good.” Various shots of him rolling up, in the studio, performing and living his best life are shown in the brief trailer. His son, Sebastian Taylor Thomaz, makes a brief appearance in a black-and-white-photo in the trailer.
Wiz signed with Atlantic Records in 2010, after releasing his first two albums (Show and Prove and Deal or No Deal) as well as a mixtape, Kush and Orange Juice. This year, he released a joint project with Curren$y titled 2009, and he is set to perform at Coachella this coming weekend.
