“I Swear” is one of Wyclef’s best singles in years.
The legendary Fugee founder has been pretty close to Young Thug lately with his recent comparisons of him to the late, great Tupac Shakur. Now, their newfound friendship has cultivated some surprisingly great music from the two stars.
Premiering on Ebro Darden’s Beats 1 radio show, ‘Clef and Thugga Thugga his all of the naysayers over the head on “I Swear.” He also gave us some amazing Haiti meets ATL flavor. Wyclef explained how their melodic ode to love came to fruition after spending a great amount of time with one another.
“[Thug] brought me into his space on [“Kanye West”], so I brought him into my space now. We about to take him to the Caribbean,” explains Wyclef. “Like when the South meets Brooklyn meets Jersey. The whole record’s a mess.”
The new single will be landing on Wyclef’s upcoming J’ouvert EP.
