A casting call was recently published on Backstage’s website calling for the likeness of deceased rapper XXXTentacion. The Florida native, who was fatally shot in Deerfield Beach, Fla. in June 2018, now serves as the subject of an unknown television pilot.
The details of the agency’s requirements state it’s specifically looking to audition male actors that are 5’4″ – 5’8″, African-American or African. Ages 18-25 will also be highly considered. Within its rubric, the company described XXXTentacion as “a confident but not cocky 20-year-old.”
Spearheaded by Base Entertainment, the listing will reach its expiration date on Nov. 19, 2018, and production will begin in January 2019 in Los Angeles. This same company is responsible for issuing another request for an actress to portray the late Amy Winehouse in a biopic.
It’s unclear what the TV pilot will entail concerning XXXTentacion, but the facts of his life will probably serve as the basis.
Recently, an audio recording surfaced that detailed the extent of the “Sad!” rapper’s domestic violence against his ex-girlfriend. Before his passing, XXXTentacion also interviewed with the Miami New Times where he discussed his upbringing and his bouts with violence during his childhood.
VIBE has reached out to XXXTentacion’s team for comment.
