Veteran artist and former Pimp My Ride host Xzibit is facing some very serious legal issues. A man is reportedly suing X after claiming the rapper’s promoted strain of THC oil was laced with pesticide, TMZ reports.
The alleged victim, whose has been identified as Ignacio Lee, claims that he purchased a Brass Knuckles-branded THC Concentrate Vape Cartridge in candy apple and sour diesel. While Xzibit does not own the company who produces the product, Lee says the artist’s promotion of the brand on his Instagram account attracted him to trying it out.
Lee suggests Xzibit’s advertisement was misleading and false. “Our oil is clean,” X originally posted online. In another post, the rapper claimed the products were “COMPLETELY pesticide AND contaminate FREE.” Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case for Lee.
In July 2016 and throughout 2017, Lee reportedly experienced fatigue, nausea, chest pains, shortness of breath, wheezing, and difficulty breathing. After quitting use of the product in Aug. 2017, he noticed that the symptoms went away.
According to legal documents obtained by TMZ, Lee hired a lab expert to conduct tests on the product to determine whether it was the cause of his illness. The results reportedly revealed detectable levels of pesticides and other contaminants.
Lee is filing a class action lawsuit on behalf of all the weed smokers who used the contaminated strain. He is reportedly seeking an undetermined sum of money as well as an order for Xzibit and other advocates to cease and desist the promotion of those products.
