Atlanta’s rising rap star YFN Lucci premieres his new EP Long Live Nut after touring the country for the past few months.
For his latest offering, Lucci pays homage to his fallen friend and mentor, Nut, who was instrumental in creating a path for him in the music industry. “It’s a homage to my homeboy, Nut, who died right after I released my first mixtape, Wish Me Well,” Lucci tells Billboard. “He helped put me on. He helped me meet Fly, who signed me to his Think It’s A Game Records.” Lucci is also officially dropping the EP on April 4, in honor of Nut’s birthday.

“The reason why my EP is dropping on a Tuesday is because I’m dropping it on his birthday. I’m super proud of this project because I not only got the big boss [Rick Ross] on my third project, but I’ve also got Boosie, the OG, and he’s one my favorite rappers. With this project, you’re going to see the work I’ve put into it and see my growth,” he adds.
The new project arrives after news of Lucci’s arrest for failing to pull his car over after several officers asked him to do so.

Following his arrest, the “Wish Me Well” rapper was later released and commented on the fiasco via Twitter. “I went to jail last night man I swear when u living they just won’t let u live,” he wrote. He then posted a picture on Instagram of him on a private jet, proving that everything was alright. “LIFE IS GOOD,” read the caption.
