The Los Angeles Police Department had reason to believe that YG and Nipsey Hussle’s video shoot for their song “FDT (F**k Donald Trump)” was getting out of hand, so they crashed the set in order to take control of the situation.
TMZ reports “Cops responded in riot gear … and quickly shut down the shoot. Law enforcement sources tell us the officers were responding to a call for cars cruising the streets and the crowd that had gathered to watch.” About 100 fans were in attendance at the shoot on Sunday (Apr. 3) in South Los Angeles per YG’s Instagram instructions.
“F**k Donald Trump’ video alert,” he said in the video. “Meet me on motherf**kin’ Melrose and Fairfax. It’s going down. 1:30, pull up. We start shootin’ 1:30 sharp.” According to TMZ, the cops had no idea it was a video shoot, but it’s reported that there was enough footage captured before the cops rolled in with weapons.
“I guess expressing political views with togetherness requires police to pull out shotguns,” one Instagram user wrote.
Watch some behind-the-scenes moments of the “FDT” video below, including a car doing donuts and hitting someone standing nearby. Ouch.
First they pulled out tasers, then pistols, then SHOTGUNS. Not sure any of that was necessary, but my nigga @nipseyhussle executed like a professional. Hands up. We was all in a peaceful FUCK DONALD TRUMP mood. No rioting, no fighting, we were together. I guess expressing political views with togetherness requires police to pull out shotguns.
