YG took a detour on his second album Still Brazy and isn’t planning on turning back. His single “F**k Donald Trump” veers away from his traditional party anthems featured on his debut album My Krazy Life, but he admits that it was time for him to make a meaningful change.
In an interview with i-D, YG reveals that the remix, which dropped during the Republican National Convention, was highly intentional. “They’re the two biggest white rappers in the game!” he says of Macklemore and G-Eazy. “I’m like, if I get two of the biggest white rap dudes in the game on this “F**k Donald Trump” record, that sh*t is gonna mean something.”
Now that Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump have accepted their party’s nominations for president, YG hints he’s just getting started with his politically charged message. “Man, I labeled it ‘Part 2’ because a ‘Part 3’ or ‘Part 4’ could happen. I just gotta get off this tour and start putting some sh*t together!”
