One of our favorite human beings, Yo Gotti kicked off his CM8 8 For $8 tour last week after the release of his CM 8: Any Hood In America mixtape.
Kicking off the tour at the Rotten Apple’s S.O.B.s venue, the CMG shot calla’ gave VIBE.com the green light to debut his CM8 8 for $8 tour vlog. Here, the Memphis native discussed why he handpicked the eight cities and why New York was the fist stop of the tour.
“I feel like it wouldn’t even be right but to start it in the biggest city, New York. Being a ni*gga from the South it took years and years, and years, for your music to make it up here, and for ni*ggas to accept it,” Gotti said.
He continued: “This whole 8 for $8 tour, I handpicked every city, every market on this tour, I handpicked myself,” says Gotti. “I wanted to go to New York, I wanted to go to Baltimore, I wanted to go to Philly, I wanted to go to Chicago, I wanted to go to Atlanta, of course I wanted to go Memphis, I wanted to go to Oakland. These cities either rocked with me from day-one, or they was one of the hardest cities or one of the last cities to get on board with this sh**.”
Also, the Soto Jose-documented film captures die-hard Gotti fans before his NYC performance where he brought out rap friends Fabolous, Maino, and newcomer 2 Milly. Epic’s L.A.Reid also makes a cameo in the video.
