After spending six days in custody, Young Thug, born Jefferey Williams, has been released from jail.
Freed on Tuesday (Nov. 14), Superior Court Judge Gregory Adams ruled that Williams could go home on the condition that he submit to bi-weekly drug tests, undergo substance abuse counseling and frequently check in with his probation officer.
“I’m sorry for disobeying the court. I’m sorry for disobeying my PO and being here again,” Williams told the judge. “I just want to be home with my family and do right.”
Thug went on to say that during his time spent behind bars, he took the time to reflect and finally realize the example he’s bad example he was setting for his kids and fans. “I gots sons, thats 10 and 11 years old. They look up to me. I even want them to think that going to jail – even if you’re able to get right out of jail – is cool.”

According to his lawyer, Williams also punished himself during his first 48 hours of his time in custody, spending a majority of the time in isolation and refusing to eat or drink. Booked at DeKalb County Jail on Nov. 8, Thugger was reportedly being held with no bond and would await trial from behind bars after failing to pass a routine drug test stemming from his 2017 arrest.
In Sept. 2017, the rapper was pulled over in Brookhaven, Georgia for illegally-tinted windows when cops found multiple drugs and a firearm in his possession. As a result of the arrest, Thug was charged with 8 felony accounts in Sept. 2018, including the possession and intent to distribute meth, hydrocodone and marijuana. He’s also charged with possession of amphetamine, Alprazolam, two counts of codeine possession and a firearm.
Later that month, Young Thug was busted during his Slime Language release party for the possession of an illegal firearm.
