LeA Robinson is a vision of beauty in “Sorry,” a ’90s themed single tackling the idea of confidence and the inferiority it strikes in others.
Robinson shows love to Compton Calif. as she pays homage to Snoop Dogg‘s “Gin & Juice” video, painting scenes of its most memorable moments.
“This song really came about when I got tired of apologizing for being great as a human being and as an artist,” the singer shared with VIBE. “I love to pay homage to people that I look up to, and for this one, I paid homage to Snoop Dogg and one of my favorite visuals of his, ‘Gin & Juice.’”
Shot in her hometown of Englewood, New Jersey, the First Family of Hip Hop star channeled her inner Snoop Doggy Dogg, as she sat mirroring the iconic scene where the hip-hop OG sits and gets his hair braided. Robinson also incorporated the clips where the “Drop It Like It’s Hot.”
Sadly, the throwback track will not be featured on her upcoming album, but the former MTV’s Super Sweet Sixteen star has made the song available on AudioMack.
LeA is the granddaughter of the late “Pillow Talk” singer Sylvia Robinson. Watch her new video for “Sorry” above.
