Anthony Hamilton has been blessing our eardrums as of late with the sweet sounds of gospel-infused renditions of our favorite hip hop songs. From 2 Chainz’ “Watch Out” and “Down In The DM” to Drizzy’s “Hotline Bling” and the inaugural “Whip/Nae Nae” remakes, he and the Hamiltones have been holding it down in a hilarious way.
Now, Hamilton drops off some brand new melodies to a slightly more serious tune. His latest single “Amen” finds the soulful crooner thanking the heavens for sending a love so sweet. “If I knew then what I know right now/I would’ve settled down a long time ago,” he sings over production from Salaam Remi and James Poyser.
The love ode is the newest single from his forthcoming fifth studio album, on which he will reunite with producer Mark Batson, who is responsible for 2003’s infectious hit, “Charlene.” While we don’t know the title or solid tracklist of the new LP, we know to expect quality songwriting and production from Harold Lilly and Chuck Harmony.
Press play on “Amen” and get your blessing.
