Here, the New Zealand-born soulstress paints a scene that’s all too familiar for anyone who’s been caught up in a one-sided relationship. “You like me more when I am broken/ Is that why you just try to hurt me?,” she sings. “Forever’s for me when I’m weak.”
With a hard-hitting beat supplied by producer, 4e, Janine & The Mixtape proves that what doesn’t kill you only makes for a sick song. Bump it below before her xx EP drops May 12.
