At Bonnaroo, festival-goers can get as Lil Jon crunk or as chilled out as they want. Between Which Stage, What Stage, The Who Stage, This Tent, That Tent, The Other Tent and plenty more disorienting stage locales, the vibe options on the sprawling 700-acre farm are endless. SZA and Gary Clark Jr. held down the fort for those who wanted to light up and let free after losing their minds in other tents.

TDE’s sole ball of estrogen took the stage—fiery red mane and flouncy yellow skirt in tow—with an energy that extended all the way past the the last person in the tent. SZA let her sensuality come to the forefront, body rolling and teasing skin during S and Z cuts like “Ice Moon,” “Castles” and “HiiiJack,” as well as a sunny cover of Roy Ayers’ “Everybody Loves The Sunshine.”
After a substantial dose of the glitter trap still familiar to fans’ ears, she teased new material from her forthcoming project, A, without hinting at a title, cutting the track to sing it acapella.

If that wasn’t enough of a treat, the delivery of fan favorite track “Childs Play” came with a surprise. The chemistry was undeniable as special guest Chance The Rapper sauntered onstage to cozy up behind her during his verse.

The audience was so pleased with SZA’s set that after her bow and exit, the audience chanting “One More Song” beckoned her back to the stage to do just that.

Similarly, Gary Clark Jr. cooly entered from stage right with his shirt unbuttoned and white guitar in hand, smiling heartily at the audience. As the sky darkened and the sun dipped lower towards the ground, the audience helped him belt the words to soul driven cuts like “Church,” “Bright Lights” and “Please Come Home.”
