6lack participated in Vevo Live to bring fans “Scripture” in the park. The single comes from his newest album East Atlanta Love Letter, which debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 200 charts. The project became the artist’s best chart-topping album since his mainstream launch.
In this 2-minute video, 6lack delivers a stripped rendition of “Scripture.” The only noises that accompany the “PRBLMS” rapper are the sounds of his surroundings. The video was shot in New York City’s Elizabeth Street Garden where 6lack, born Ricardo Valdez Valentine, spits bars walking through the fruitful garden.
The video allows the audience to connect to the complexities the Zone-6 artist discussed on the electronically produced version of the track where the father-of-one searches for answers to his most difficult questions. The self-proclaimed “R&B ni**a with a hip-hop core” finds a way to make such a simple shoot and intimate experience for his fans who have yet to experience him in a fresh perspective.
As Valentine traces his way through the garden, he delivers the standout track like a spoken word in his most raw performance yet.
