After a tough year, Ariana Grande put out “thank u, next” a song about failed relationships and self-love. Now, Grande has taken the live performance to The Ellen Degeneres Show.
Quite ironically, the stage was decorated with tables draped in white linens and flowers and seven-layer wedding cake in the background. The vocal powerhouse was joined by two background dancers, who doubled as the song’s co-writers, Victoria Monet and Tayla Parx. The two women supported the “God Is A Women” singer through the First Wives Club-inspired performance while dressed in their wedding whites. Additionally, the set was noticeably devoid of any male presence.

However, the 25-year-old had an adorable mishap during her set when her white thigh high boot caught on the lace trimming of her blazer-dress. “Oh, my God,” she said into the microphone, before shaking off the setback with a giggle.
While singing about getting married, Grande seemingly began to tear up but quickly regained her focus to continue the performance. More than anything, this performance looked like a healing moment for Grande after a tough few months of dealing with the end of her engagement to Pete Davidson and the death of her ex Mac Miller, who passed in September from a drug overdose.
