Over a super smooth strum and shaker filled melody, Bas and J.Cole deliver “Tribe,” the second single from Bas’ upcoming album, Milky Way.
First announced last Thursday (Aug. 16), Bas finally released the highly anticipated collaborative track early Wednesday morning (Aug. 22). Bas takes on the first verse, where he raps about a God-sent woman that keeps him on his grind before Cole goes in on the beat, spitting rhymes on his come-up.
“God shuffled the cards, dealt me a hand with impossible odds/ Put an obstacle course up/ Look, and I conquered them all (conquered them all),” he raps.
According to Bas, the video for the feel-good track was shot in Miami’s Little Haiti, after the “Boca Raton” rapper spent a week in Lagos, Nigeria picking up all the island vibes.
when you spend a week in Lagos and think you can come home and shaku in your music video . Someone call @wizkidayo or @djmoma I need guidance. TRIBE feat @JColeNC midnight tonight/ 9 pm PT pic.twitter.com/nLG9rjMJBW
