Summer Walker is next up for Atlanta-based record label, LVRN. Following the success of her breakout single “CPR,” Walker dropped a video for her latest track, “Girls Need Love.” In the Roll Bounce-inspired visual, Summer and her girl-gang take over a ’70s roller rink for a nostalgic girls night out. Matching the magic energy of the video,”Girls Need Love” is a liberated female anthem that works to break gendered stereotypes through Walker’s intoxicating vocals.
With label-mates like D.R.A.M. and 6lack, Walker is looking to carve a niche of her own. Drawing inspiration from the sounds of Jimi Hendrix and Amy Winehouse, Summer Walker looks to light a new fire under R&B.
Be on the lookout for Summer in the next few months as she will join the likes of H.E.R., Ella Mai and many more at Best Life music festival this September before joining 6lack on his upcoming world tour this fall.
