As the pop OG dominates Sin City with a two-year Vegas coup, the show’s director Baz Halpin promises it’s Britney, bitch and then some
Baz Halpin, Director: “The show is like a visual representation of Britney’s imagination, inspirations and influences. Each song is reimagined with its own visual world, and Britney is hands on with everything from costume design to lighting to choreography. For the venue, we’re creating a hybrid between a club and the concert experience. From the moment you walk in, you’re in this exciting musical environment.
“We have one of the world’s largest indoor video screens, and the entire theatre is essentially one giant IMAX screen. The stage is the entire room. It’s very fitting for her music, because people are going to want to get up and dance. Visually, it’ll be the most cutting edge, elaborate, extravagant show that Britney’s ever done—21 hit songs spanning her entire career past, present and future. We’ve taken her biggest songs and musically updated some of them with new twists. The show will be flexible, so people that come to see it more than once will experience an entirely different concert than the first time.”
Britney Spears’ Las Vegas residency at Planet Hollywood will run from Dec. 27, 2013 through 2015
