The Knowles sisters, Colin Kaepernick, The Minnesota LYNX women’s basketball team and Kevin Hart were listed among the honorees for the 2016 edition of Ebony Magazine’s Power 100.
The annual list reveals 100 influential black people who have influenced the world in a positive way through their accomplishments. The categories that each of the honorees fall into include “Community Crusaders,” “Corporate Crowns,” and “Women Up,” and you can see musicians, athletes, doctors, journalists and company CEO’s sprinkled throughout the list.
“This year’s EBONY Power 100 celebrates our doers, risk takers and makers of things,” wrote Ebony’s Keith Reed. “…their accomplishments and innovations reassure us that change isn’t coming—it’s here.”
The cover stars of the magazine’s special edition include Simone Biles, John Legend, Nas and Ava DuVernay. The Power 100 class of 2016 will be celebrated in a star-studded event on Dec. 1 in Los Angeles. Nile Rodgers, Cicely Tyson and Earth, Wind & Fire were named the Lifetime Achievement honorees.
The Power 100 list will be included in the December 2016 issue of the magazine, but you can peep the full list here.
