Thomas Moore made his decision two years ago to do something that’ll benefit kids battling cancer. According to Buzzfeed, the 10-year-old saw his mother, Angilea Pulos, viewing a video of a young girl named Kyssi Andrews, who lost her hair due to chemotherapy.
The Maryland native decided to grow out his tresses, which began in 2014, and then donate it to Andrews. There was no set timeframe though, but “he just wanted it to be long enough to make the girl feel happy,” his aunt, Amber Lynne, told the news site. “It started off just fine when his hair was shorter, but as the afro grew, they had to cornrow it to keep it nice and tame.” Moore’s grew long enough that it could make three wigs.
Once it was time to get the ultimate chop, Lynne shared that her nephew “felt good about it and hoped it would make other people happy.” Andrews lost her battle with cancer, but her mother shared on Facebook that she knows her daughter is honored by the good deed.
“You can learn SO MUCH from children,” her mother, Marla, wrote. “To know that my sweet ANGEL Kyssi is still an inspiration, even in her absence from the earth makes me one PROUD mom. Her LEGACY lives.”
