Young Thug has a dedicated fan base, so much so that a French artist who follows the Atlanta native’s music created a “fictional biopic” on the rising rapper.
In an interview with Rolling Stone, Pierre Gaignard said that he was introduced to Thugger’s music after he heard it blare through the speakers in a friend’s car. From there, Gaignard dug deeper into who Young Thug is through his social media accounts and felt that he “wasn’t a fan, but part of his family.”
“He offered so many things about his private life that I felt like I was a part of it.” Gaignard later continued, “He made me discover Atlanta. I never physically went there, but at the end of the project, I was capable of walking alone in the city. I even knew the right exit on the motorway to find Cleveland Avenue.”
Young Thug is currently unaware of the video tribute, which is a reel of past interviews and videos, but Gaignard hopes the “Best Friend” rapper will find it. “This film is like a letter addressed to him,” he said, “a message in a bottle.”
