The Real host Adrienne Bailon has decided to part ways with her longtime boyfriend and fiance of seven months, Roc Nation executive Lenny Santiago. After a six year relationship, the two have decided to call of their wedding plans, according to a report by Us Magazine. Bailon confirmed the news, noting that she and her now-ex will continue to be friends despite their split.
“I am, of course, sad that things didn’t go as we planned, but we still remain close friends,” she told the magazine. “Six years is a long time to be together, but we had to make the decision to go with our hearts and not be embarrassed or afraid of change. He absolutely helped make me a better person and I will forever cherish the time we shared together.”
Bailon took to Instagram back in February to announce her engagement to Santiago. With the return of The Real to daytime television with its second season, the co-host of the popular show shared that work would be her focus following the breakup.
“Right now I am taking time for myself and I’m glad to be back at work with my favorite ladies and the incredible crew of The Real,” she said. “Life lessons are hard but I’m grateful that I have a platform to share my journey and hopefully encourage, inspire, or just let women know they are not alone and to never give up on finding love. I still believe. I feel so blessed and excited for the new season of The Real and I truly appreciate the support from everyone!”
You know what they say, “All’s well that ends well.” Good luck to both Adrienne Bailon and Lenny Santiago on their future endeavors.
