Remember that little girl who used to kill the dance routines in Missy Elliott’s videos? Her name is Alyson Stoner, and she’s all grown up. Since the world’s reignited appreciation for Missy with her Super Bowl appearance with Katy Perry, the legendary femcee has seen a boost in record sales and in love. The latest gesture comes by way of Stoner, who at age 21, still acknowledges the impact of Elliot. In a tribute video to the rapper, Stoner dusts off moves from videos like “Work It” and “Gossip Folks” for a dope commemoration of her work. “My favorite video to film was ‘Work It’ because it began the incredible road ahead,” she recently told BuzzFeed. “Missy was protective and thoughtful of us kids, removing us from the mature scenes and using the clean version when we filmed.” Missy, who caught wind of Stoner’s video, took to Twitter to thank her:
I’m so humbled! Honestly I never knew How many appreciated my music but I am grateful thank u @Alyson 4 a beautiful tribute
