In an effort to keep up with rival music sharing sites such as Spotify and iTunes, Amazon has just announced that its AutoRip program will extend its benefits to vinyls.
Despite being the world’s largest online retailer, Amazon has steadily searched for innovative ways to keep up in the highly competitive digital music market. The new AutoRip incentive allows customers to receive the MP3 versions of their purchased vinyl records. Upon purchasing the record, the MP3 will be added to their Amazon Cloud Player library.
Initially, the offer was only valid for CD purchases, but a recent rise in vinyl retail, further urged the company to change its music offerings.
