It’s been a long haul for fans of the Bad Boys franchise. After the success of the second action-cop-comedy, many wondered what it would take to reunite detectives Mike Lowery and Marcus Bernett.
After some push and pull and a slew of false starts, Bad Boys 3, titled Bad Boys For Life is finally underway. Will Smith took to Instagram Thursday (Nov. 1) in sunny California to break the news with friend and co-star Martin Lawrence by his side.
Last year, Entertainment Weekly spoke with Lawrence who said the likelihood seemed distant. “I don’t think we’re going to get one, not the way everything’s turning out,” he admitted. “Will is off doing another movie, and I don’t think it’s going to happen.” But he added, “I’m there, I’m ready right now. If they wanted to do it, I’m ready, but I don’t have control of that. That’s the studio’s decision.”
Black Gangsta directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah will helm the project, which was previously going to be directed by Michael Bay.
We ride together. We die together. Bad Boys For Life!
