It’s the big house for the Broad Street Bully. Beanie Sigel was sentenced to six to 23 months in prison this week after a guilty plea on drug charges.
Sigel, born Dwight Grant, pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of illegally possessing Percocet, a pain killer. The Philly rapper was arrested on a traffic stop in a suburb on August 29, and has been in prison ever since.
The arrest came just hours after the release of his latest album, This Time, and only a few weeks before Sigel was scheduled to report to prison on federal tax evasion charges. Sigel will do two years on that charge, and the guilty plea means his drug charge will run concurrent to his tax evasion charge.
With Beanie Sigel sentenced, it means he really is State Property – for now.
