According to his spokesperson, Bill Cosby is one of the more popular inmates at the State Correctional Institute Phoenix.
Per TMZ, the comedian who formerly held the title of America’s Favorite Father is often greeted with adoration when he enters rooms at the facility. He also reportedly keeps inmates, their families and guards entertained and laughing with stories from his past, specifically about his days on the show, I Spy.
“Andrew Wyatt tells TMZ … he’s visited Cosby at the Pennsylvania prison more than a dozen times, and whenever the disgraced TV father enters the visiting area, other inmates and their families shower him with cheers and applause,” the site reports. “We’re told the adoration doesn’t stop there — one of the convicted sex offender’s biggest supporters is a white, female correction staff officer who grew up watching ‘The Cosby Show.'” Wyatt is also the spokesperson who called Cosby’s criminal trial “the most racist and sexist trial in the history of the United States.”
The site also reports that inmates at the facility tell Cosby they believe it’s unfair that he is incarcerated. Cosby is facing three to 10 years behind bars for aggravated indecent assault against Andrea Constand in 2004.
