With Bill Cosby possibly facing charges in one of his rape allegations, the comedian’s lawyer has assured that he has an alibi during the night of the supposed incident. According to Chloe Goins, Cosby drugged and sexually abused her at the Playboy mansion in August 2008. But Cosby claims he was not even in the same state on the date of the alleged rape.
“Mr. Cosby was in New York on that date,” attorney Martin D. Singer wrote in a statement. “We will be providing documentary evidence to the appropriate authorities which conclusively establishes Mr. Cosby’s whereabouts on August 9th and for the preceding and succeeding days.”

Goins’ story suggests that Cosby was in attendance at a Playboy event entitled the “Midsummer’s Night Dream Party” in L.A. on Aug. 9, 2008. Allegedly blacking out and awaking to the comedian on top of her, Goins’ accusation falls within the statute of limitations, allowing for an investigation by authorities. Goins’ attorney, Spencer Kuvin, responded to Singer’s promise of evidence.
“We look forward to seeing this alleged proof,” he wrote in an email.
Los Angeles prosecutors will ultimately decide if Cosby will be charged.
