Amidst what seemed like a new rape allegation a day this week, Bill Cosby took the stage at the King Center for Performing Arts in Melbourne, FL last night (Nov. 21). Getting a standing ovation from the sold out crowd before and after his performance, the comedian/actor was reportedly well-received. Before his set, he addressed the public’s frustration with his lack of response to the controversy. “I know people are tired of me not saying anything, but a guy doesn’t have to answer to innuendos,” Cosby told Florida Today. “People should fact check. People shouldn’t have to go through that and shouldn’t answer to innuendos.” Ahead of his scheduled appearance in Melbourne, a local radio host offered $1,000 to audience members to heckle Cosby during his show. The plan was presented as a way to force him to address the rape allegations. According to several reports, however, the comedian was met with fanfare:
Bill Cosby’s show starts with a standing ovation as he walks onstage. His response: a thumbs-up while wearing a “HELLO FRIEND” sweater.

A woman just yelled “We love you, Bill Cosby” an hour and 15 minutes into the show. Still no hecklers. Extra security/police all around.
