Founder of the annual BET awards show Black Girls Rock!, Beverly Bond, is ready to remind black women everywhere that they rock in a more concrete way.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Bond is working on a book titled Black Girls Rock!: Celebrating the Power, Beauty and Brilliance of Black Women, slated for a next year release. Bond says the book will “affirm, elevate, and celebrate the unique narratives and rich experiences of Black women and girls around the world for generations to come.”
Through a combination of inspirational advice, original poetry, and photography, the book will “showcase the complexity, dynamism, achievements and diverse cultural traditions of Black women from around the world.”
The book, which has been said to be thought of as an ‘I Dream a World of our time,’ will be published through Atria Publishing Group imprint 37 INK in Fall 2017.
