According to Bobby Shmurda, he was suppose to get paid about a week ago (get it?) but unfortunately for the Brooklyn breakout artist, money hasn’t been flowing as quickly as he assumed.
The emcee took to his Instagram account to rant about his financial situation earlier this week. However, his mother and manager Leslie Pollard told Billboard that it isn’t that Bobby isn’t getting paid, but he doesn’t understand the business.
“It’s not that he’s not getting paid, it’s that he’s new to the business,” Pollard who’s been his manager for two months says. “There’s a chain of command that he has to go through before he gets his payment. I guess he’s thinking all the money should go from the front man to his hands — it doesn’t work like that. Of course they hold onto it so he actually does the show. Then it goes to his business manager, then to the touring accountant, and then to him.”
Pollard says her son was speaking impulsively and now understands how things work.
