Bobby Shmurda might have extended his stay in jail.
The Brooklyn native was recently charged with attempting to smuggle in a “sharpened metal object” last month, which was reportedly brought to the Riker’s Island institution by his alleged girlfriend, Kimberly Rousseau, during a visit.

Now, the “Shmoney Dance” rapper could face an additional seven years behind bars if found guilty for this occurrence, bringing his bid up to 25 years. On top of that, he’s also facing “felony and misdemeanor charges of promoting prison contraband” and “perjury” The New York Times reports. His trial will begin in October.

The promising rapper has been in jail since December 2014 following a two-year investigation by the New York Police Department. He has yet to make bail. Along with other members of his GS9 entourage, the 20-year-old artist is facing charges from armed weapons to over $50K worth of cocaine.
