Boosie Badazz wants to let the world know that his kidney cancer was no laughing matter. In an Instagram post on Sunday (Jan. 24), the Baton Rouge rapper shared that he has received direct messages from critics claiming that he lied about his diagnosis. He shared the news on social media in December, and underwent surgery to have the cancer removed. Taking aim at those who accused him of being less than truthful, Boosie said that he simply “asked for prayers n gottem.”
“I’m tired of these stupid mothaf**kas saying I ain’t have cancer sending me DMs asking why am I lying saying I had cancer,” he wrote. “Who wants to fake or lie about something like that not me ,not a real one wtf u mad cause I asked for prayers n gottem /I don’t get it / well mf’s this my cancer scar a week after my surgery (FACTS).”
In an interview with Revolt TV, Boosie recalled getting the news of his kidney cancer. After feeling sick and getting an MRI, he shared his emotional reaction to the news.
“I wasn’t feeling good, I was slick-side throwing up, but I was still going to get my money in Houston,” Boosie said. “And I told the doctor, ‘Man, let get a MRI’ to check my stomach. And I got a MRI and doctor came back like: ‘We found something on your kidney.’ I’m like: ‘What y’all found on my kidney?’ He was like: ‘You got cancer on your kidney.’ I was like, ‘Fuck.’ I ain’t going to lie, I just busted out crying.”
Half of Boosie’s kidney was removed to clear him of the cancer, and he posted a photo of the scar. Read his response to people who says he lied below:
