The deadly massacre at Pulse nightclub in Orlando, Fla., on June 12 touched the lives of many, and people continue to reach out and help those affected in any way, shape, or form.
Broadway Records President, Van Dean, partnered with SiriusXM Radio host Seth Rudetsky and his husband, producer James Wesley, to create a rendition to touch the lives of the victims involved in the deadly incident.
“The Broadway community was so terribly shaken and devastated by the horrific tragedy in Orlando,” Rudetsky said to People. “Everyone wanted to do something as quickly as possible that would truly make a difference.”
Broadway stars gathered together on June 15 in Avatar Studios, located in New York, and recorded a heartfelt tribute, “What The World Needs Now Is Love.”
Whoopi Goldberg, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Gloria Estefan, Wayne Brody, Sarah Jessica Parker, Rosie Perez and a few of the actors whose vocals are featured on the track.
The record is on sale for $1.99 at Broadway Records and iTunes. All proceeds will be given to the LGBT Community Center of Central Florida.
