These new Brooklyn boys might take some getting used to, but with the basketball season fast approaching, a full on takeover is inevitable.
Brooklyn Nets stars Deron Williams, Joe Johnson, Brook Lopez, and Gerald Wallace are featured in the new phase of the Hello Brooklyn marketing campaign that launches today in Brooklyn.
The team’s official press release states that the multi-faceted campaign is designed to introduce the players to the borough and enable fans to learn more about their hometown team. Each of the players is featured in individual advertisements with their photo and a personalized greeting.
“Hello Brooklyn. I’m #8, Deron Williams, three-time NBA All-Star and father of four,” reads Williams’ ad.
The Hello Brooklyn campaign includes billboards in select locations throughout New York such as on the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway, by the Manhattan Bridge, Atlantic Avenue and Eastern Parkway, Kings Highway and Utica Avenue, 86th Street and 4th Avenue, and Surf Avenue. It will also include social media interaction across platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, and Google+ along with subway station signs rolling out in August.
“We are delighted to continue building a connection between Brooklynites and the players on their new home team,” said Brooklyn Nets CEO Brett Yormark. “This phase of the Hello Brooklyn campaign is a creative way for the players to share something about themselves in advance of their debut at Barclays Center this fall. It’s clear from the big crowd at our recent public celebration at Borough Hall Plaza, as well as our successful ticket and merchandise sales, that the borough is excited for their Brooklyn Nets. We’re thrilled to be part of the community as we get ready for opening night.”
The team isn’t the only one prepping for the big night. Its owner Jay-Z has lined up an eight-show concert series at Barclays in September.
The Hello Brooklyn campaign originally launched on April 30 with a visual ode to the borough. Check the video below.
