K-Pop sensations BTS will appear at the 61st Annual Grammy Awards ceremony. The “Fake Love” group will reportedly be presenting an award, according to Variety. The group is up for a golden gramophone at this weekend’s event, however, it’s not for music this time around.
“[BTS is up for] best recording package (i.e. artwork) for their Love Yourself: Tear album, for which they’re nominated alongside Seoul-based branding outfit HuskyFox,” writes the site. “In that category, the group is up against St. Vincent’s ‘Masseduction,’ Mitski’s ‘Be the Cowboy,’ the Chairman’s ‘The Offering,’ and Foxhole’s ‘Well Kept Thing.’”
BTS has found extreme amounts of success here in the States, and hip-hop has taken a liking to them as well. Brooklyn rapper Desiigner appeared on the Steve Aoki remix of their song “Mic Drop,” and Nicki Minaj sprinkled her rap abilities on their track “Idol,” which dropped last summer.
Love Yourself: Tear is one of three installments in BTS’ Love Yourself series. The compilation project also features Love Yourself: Her and Love Yourself: Answer. We’re sure their appearance on the Grammys this Sunday (Feb. 10) will be met favorably by their fanbase.
