BTS is one of the biggest groups in music today, and they continue to smash records that no one ever believed could be un-smashed.
The K-pop group now has the biggest 24-hour video debut of all time; their visual for “Idol” garnered more than 45 million views in a day. The record was previously held by Taylor Swift, whose video for “Look What You Made Me Do” was watched 43.2 million times in 24 hours.
According to Billboard, “‘Idol’ was made public on the video-streaming site Friday morning and has recorded more than 85 million views as of press time Monday (Aug. 27)…’Idol’ exceeded BTS’ previous 24-hour debut record on YouTube: In May, “Fake Love” saw the biggest 24-hour YouTube debut of 2018 by amassing 35.9 million views in a single day.”
The group, who sings and dances, has worked with hip-hoppers such as Desiigner and Nicki Minaj, and recently released an album called Love Yourself: Answer, which is the final installment of their “Love Yourself” series of musical projects. Their revamped version of “Idol” features Minaj, and the group reportedly reached out to the Queen MC to add a guest verse on the track.
There’s no doubt in our minds that the BTS Army will get this video to a billion views by the week’s end. Check out the video below.
