Wyclef Jean isn’t the only rap star focused on raising money for the citizens of Haiti following the devastating earthquake that hit the country on Jan. 12.
Houston rap legend Bun B has organized a Texas fundraiser for victims of the earthquake, which has displaced hundreds of thousands of people. “We all need to get involved,” the rapper said in a statement. “Race, color or creed, we are all Haitians right now, and we need to help our brothers and sisters!”
To help, the UGK star put together “Houston For Haiti” a benefit concert sponsored by Red Bull, the Houston Community Center, and Houston radio station KBXX The Box. Performers include Slim Thug, Trae The Truth, ESG, Lil O, Candi Redd, Just Brittany, Corey Mo and The Party Boyz. Tickets for the event are $20 in advance and $30 at the door.
The concert is scheduled for Monday, Jan. 18, at Warehouse Live in Houston. —Linda Hobbs
