Alton Sterling’s eldest son Cameron spent his 16th birthday enjoying one of the hottest tickets in town, Kanye West’s Saint Pablo Tour when it stopped in Inglewood, Calif. The lucky young man also got to meet the man of the hour, Kanye West, and his wife Kim Kardashian after the show.
“Shoutout to @kanyewest & @KimKardashian for showing 16th bday love last night to my client #CameronSterling, eldest son of #AltonSterling,” wrote Trial Attorney and South Carolina State Representative Justin Bramberg on Twitter. In the photo accompanying the caption, Cameron stands in the center of Kimye, as Kanye and Kim smirk beside him.
Bramberg is representing the family of Alton Sterling in a wrongful death suit. Mr. Sterling was videotaped being shot and killed over the summer by a police officer in Baton Rouge, La., an incident that caused uproars and riots throughout the city.
West shared a clip of Sterling’s murder to his Twitter page during the height of the news, while Kim, who is currently keeping things quiet on social media, wrote on her blog, “I want my children to grow up knowing that their lives matter. I do not ever want to have to teach my son to be scared of the police, or tell him that he has to watch his back because the people we are told to trust—the people who “protect and serve”—may not be protecting and serving him because of the color of his skin.”
We’re sure this was a lasting memory for the teen during a very trying year for him. Happy birthday, Cameron!
