There isn’t anyone who could say that Cardi B has not been living her best life for the past year. From top to bottom, Cardi’s 2018 has been chock full of wins. We’re talking a certified gold album with Invasion of Privacy, broken Billboard records, confirmation of a marriage to Offset, major partnerships and campaigns with Alexa, Steve Madden, Reebok and Fashion Nova, headlining sets at major music festivals and the birth of her daughter Kulture. As the icing on the cake, Cardi just accomplished one of her biggest goals: buying a home for her mother.
Yesterday (Nov. 19), the “I Like It” rapper excitedly took to Instagram to share the big news and explain just how long she’d been waiting and working to make it happen. “It’s always been a dream to buy my mother a house,” she wrote. “Last year I was so thirsty to buy my mom a house but the ones I was interested [in] for her weren’t at my price range. I worked and worked and now I’m here!!”
As she talked about the “happiest day of [her] life”, she gave Instagram viewers a walking tour of the new family base, pointing out all the rooms that Kulture will get to play in with her friends and family.
“I’m just happy because you know when my daughter visits her grandma’s house, she’s going to come here with all her friends,” she continued, not hiding how emotional she was. “I can’t wait ’til all my family comes here. Thanksgiving, everything. I’m so happy.”
