Cassidy is the next rapper with mainstream appeal to hop back into the battle rap arena as he’s set to take on Dizaster December 6th in Los Angeles.
After July’s Total Slaughter, the battle rap culture may have never seen a greater high (or unclear future, depending on who you ask). After Joe Budden earned over 200K for his battle against Hollow Da Don, Cassidy said it would take the right amount of money to have him return to the area where he made his name against Murda Mook and Freeway.
“At the end of the day, the reason why I accepted this is because the chicken was right,” Cassidy told VladTV. “They gave me crazy chicken. More money than anybody ever made off battling, like what I feel as though I deserve.”
That amount of “chicken”? $250,000. But, it’s unclear who exactly is putting on the battle with most signs pointing towards Lush One of King Of The Dot and Grindtime fame for his upstart Fresh Coast Media. There’s set to be a press conference formally announcing the battle today in Los Angeles.
