Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minn. was the setting for a nearly-five house tribute concert for the late-great Prince. Fans of the legendary musician were treated to performances by Tori Kelly, Jessie J and Bilal, but two performances by some of The Purple One’s contemporaries completely brought the house down.
Stevie Wonder, who called Prince the “Emperor Of Pop,” did a rendition of Donnie Hathaway’s “Someday We’ll All Be Free” on the keyboard, “Superstition” and “Purple Rain” featuring Prince’s background vocals. He also accompanied Tori Kelly for the songs “Take Me With You” and “Raspberry Beret.”
Wonder also joined another living legend, Chaka Khan, for “I Feel For You” and “1999.” The music diva also performed “Betcha” and “Sweet Thing” solo.
Prince would be proud. Check out some videos from the concert below.
