New collaborators/ mentor and mentee Kanye West and Chance The Rapper have had quite the 2016. With musical collaborations on each other’s projects and a host of performances together, there’s nothing these two can’t do when they work as a team.
Two producers, DJ Clyde and DJ Critical Hype, decided to put the Chicago rappers together for a mash-up project entitled Chance The Dropout. The project, which is 23-songs long, features Chance’s vocals over Kanye’s famous beats.
From “Spaceship” to “They Don’t Like Me” to “No Problem” to the pair’s smash-hit “Ultralight Beam,” the results must be heard to be believed. The cover art is even better, thanks to excellent work done by Ian Klarer.
“They are both from Chicago and Chance is always talking about how big of an influence Kanye was and is,” said Critical Hype of the project’s origins. “It seemed like a match made in heaven and a great way to bridge the gap of a new and older Chicago artist.”
