A CVS run nearly ended in the arrest of two Richmond, Va. roommates planning to purchase sliced cheese last week.
Rick Berry and Philip Blackwell told ABC 8News that all store employees disappeared after they asked if the item was in stock, leaving the pair and an additional customer unattended while making a call to cops in hiding. “We looked around for probably 30, 45 minutes and we couldn’t find anybody,” Blackwell said.
Once a police officer arrived to the scene, Berry took to Snapchat to document the event. “We’re being kicked out because they were scared of us and hiding,” he told his followers.
After employees were located in a locked room at the back of the store, the event took a turn for the worse after the officer asked both men to leave or risk arrest. “He just told us that we need to leave premises or else we would be arrested for trespassing and that flipped the script on all of us,” Berry told the news station. “We had no idea what was going on.”
