DaBaby is paying it forward for the overflow of blessings he’s encountered this year. The North Carolina native made life a little bit easier for a fan who revealed she’s been sleeping in her car with her toddler son. After waiting for three hours outside of his pop-up in Atlanta, Ga., Amanda Rose and her child approached the 27-year-old with hats that she sells.
While DaBaby didn’t purchase her knitted creations, he gave her $1,000 and advised her to sell those hats to other customers, The New York Post reports. Before taking a photo, the fan was overwhelmed with emotion, stating, “This is my son, we are sleeping wild bro. Thank you so much.” According to the Post, the 23-year-old and son have been taking shelter in her Nissan Maxima.
The gesture arrived weeks after DaBaby’s sophomore album, Kirk, landed at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart.
In a cover story with Billboard, DaBaby shared that his project was inspired by his father who recently passed away. “Trying to drop this album and dedicating it to him, the cover being a baby picture and the shit being on billboards in Times Square, being able to tell the world my story—and they’re so interested, too?” he said. “Like the whole world is interested in how influential my pops was to me. This sh*t right here been more therapeutic than anything.”
