Reports say that Dave Chappelle will be hosting Saturday Night Live on Nov. 12, with A Tribe Called Quest as his musical guests.
This will be the first appearance on the show for Chappelle, who was once the host of his own hit sketch-comedy show on Comedy Central. Since then, he’s laid pretty low, but he performed stand up at the Roots Picnic Festival in early-October. This will be his first televised appearance since an episode of Inside The Actor’s Studio in 2013.
A Tribe Called Quest was reported as the musical guest for Nov. 12 in late-October, as their first and last studio album in 18 years, We Got It From Here … Thank You 4 Your Service is slated to drop the day before (Nov. 11).
This is the last album from ATCQ to feature Phife Dawg, who passed away earlier this year. It’s also being reported that the legendary hip-hop group could have a special guest featured in their performance.
Chappelle’s appearance couldn’t have been more masterfully timed, as Election Day is a few days before the show airs, and we’re sure America will need a good laugh.
