Dave Chappelle took a shot at comedy duo Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele during the Roots Picnic Festival this weekend in NYC. The D.C. comedian told a few jokes in between music sets, and one of them hurled a decent amount of shade at Key and Peele.
“Put some respect on my name, y’all don’t know what I’ve been through…watching Key & Peele do my show the last five f***ing years,” he said to laughter from the crowd. During his set, he also discussed the Black Lives Matter movement, saying that “the best way to show people that black lives matter is to live a good black life.”

This is actually not the first time the comedian dissed the twosome. At a 2015 show in Santa Fe, N.M., Chappelle sarcastically said during his set, “They’re hilarious. I don’t know how they [Key and Peele] came up with a show that great…oh that’s right I remember how.”
His sketch show on Comedy Central ran from 2003 to 2006, and Key and Peele’s similarly styled sketch show ran from 2012 to 2015. Neither Key or Peele has commented on the dig.
