Professional basketball player DeAndre Jordan has been playing center for the Los Angeles Clippers since 2008, and he’s currently in Rio fighting for team USA on the court. His goal is to attain an Olympic gold medal, and he believes receiving an NBA championship ring can’t even compare to having a gold medal on your neck.
“I think they’re above NBA rings,” said Jordan. “I may get in trouble for saying that, but I believe that. I feel like this is more special. You’re not just playing teams in the U.S. You’re playing teams from all over the world. And this is even more special because there’s an NBA champion crowned every year, but this is every four years. You’ve got to really think about that, man, because it’s extremely special.”
Jordan’s help to move Team USA to gold has been working. They have made their way to the semi-finals round with a couple close wins, so they’re on their way to glory.
Go Team USA!
